It’s been a minute…
Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. It’s been a minute since I last posted. Sooooo, let’s catch up.
Summer Travels 2023
I had the most AMAZING! summer of travel this year. For Mothers Day, I was gifted a trip to Paris, France! We embarked on our journey in July and it was the best trip of my adult life. It was a whirlwind tour over 4 days. We stayed in Bercy Village just outside of the main tourist attractions in Paris. I loved this quiet neighborhood in Paris with its beautiful courtyard of nearby restaurants where we got to eat outside along the cobblestone walkway under the beautiful umbrellas of the village. Some of our best meals were in Bercy Village. When I travel to Paris again, I do plan to stay in Bercy Village as it was convenient to everything but outside of the hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions in the heart of Paris.
One our second day we traveled to Normandy, France by tour guide to visit Giverny (Claude Monet’s House) and it was the most beautiful, relaxing place! By far this was my favorite part of the trip. We then toured Palace de Versailles and there’s no way to really capture the beauty of the castle and its grounds. The tour inside the palace was fantastic with lots of information about French history. Unfortunately, it was super hot in Europe this summer, so of course I didn’t get a chance to see all of the gardens there because the heat was unbearable. I’m sad about that, but I had to take care of my health and find a place to cool off from the summer heat.
The next day we went to TwitchCon Paris! I admit - I was surprised by the depth and wealth of information at the conference. Of course there were gaming competitions, vendor showcases, a main theater with shows, and cosplay. But the programs offered were very good and I got a chance to meet some streamers IRL. We bonded over conversations and shared experiences and I walked away with new acquaintences in both the US and Europe. I’m so glad we continue to stay in touch with each other supporting our journeys.
On my fourth day in Paris, we took the Big Bus Tour Hop on Hop Off. We visited St. Chappelle, the Concierge and then we toured various sites in Paris. The grand finale was a night tour at the Eiffel Tower. OMGosh! The night time light show is unbelievably beautiful. Memories I will always cherish. Tour de Eiffel will always have a special place in my heart. It was such a wonderful thing to be able to see it IRL.
Well, that’s all for this post. If you happen to visit my YouTube Channel you will see a replay of the Twitch stream I shared with my viewers of the trip.
Hope to see you again real soon,
Enchantée
